Cookie Policy
RateMate uses only technology needed for secure sessions and user preferences. It does not currently use advertising, affiliate, social-media tracking, or cross-site marketing cookies.

01Strictly necessary cookies
The Web application sets `ratemate_access` for a short authenticated session, `ratemate_refresh` to securely renew it, and `ratemate_context` to remember the selected authorized organization. These cookies are HttpOnly, Secure in production, and protected by SameSite controls. They cannot be disabled through a consent panel because the authenticated service cannot work without them. RateMate uses necessary cookies to operate authenticated accounts, organization context and the account-free organization evaluation and Inbox flow. These cookies are not advertising identifiers.
02Duration
Authentication and organization-context cookies follow their server-defined expiry and may end earlier on logout, revocation or account action. The organization browser-session and activity cookies have a maximum browser lifetime of 30 days and may expire or be invalidated earlier. This session lifetime is separate from the 30-day evaluation window measured from visit completion.
03Browser storage
RateMate uses local storage for language and light, dark, or system appearance preferences. Session storage may preserve interrupted registration progress and limited table/interface state in the current browser tab. These values are not advertising identifiers and are not used to follow users across unrelated services.
04Mobile secure storage
The mobile application does not rely on browser cookies for its normal session. It stores opaque authentication material through the operating system SecureStore and may retain user preferences on the device.
05Third-party content
RateMate does not place third-party advertising cookies. Map views may request tiles or location search results from configured OpenStreetMap services, which receive ordinary network request information under their own policies. Transactional email and device notification providers operate outside browser cookie storage.
06Your controls
You can clear RateMate cookies and browser storage through browser settings. Clearing necessary cookies signs you out or removes the selected organization context; clearing preference storage resets language or appearance. Blocking necessary cookies prevents authenticated Web features from operating correctly.
07Changes and contact
Optional cookies are not currently used. If RateMate later adds analytics or marketing cookies, this Policy and a prior consent choice must be implemented before they are enabled. Questions may be sent to ratematecompany@gmail.com.
